Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how MacroIntel ("MacroIntel," "we," "us"), a service operated by Global Signal, a sole proprietorship based in California, collects and uses information when you use intel.macrointel.org (the "Service"). The Service is intended for users in the United States who are 18 or older.
1. Information we collect
- Account & identity. When you register, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your email address and account credentials and creates a unique account identifier.
- Information you provide. Portfolio data you choose to enter — properties, units, NOI, loan balances, rates, and maturities — to power your private tools.
- Technical & usage data. Standard server and security logs (e.g., IP address, device/browser information, timestamps) collected by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) to operate and secure the Service.
- Cookies. Essential sign-in/session cookies. We do not currently use advertising or analytics tracking cookies.
2. How we use information
- To authenticate you and provide, maintain, and secure the Service.
- To operate your private tools (e.g., Capital Structure analysis and Portfolio Intelligence).
- To communicate with you about your account and the Service.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues, and to comply with law.
3. Service providers (processors)
We share information only with vendors that process it on our behalf to run the Service:
- Clerk — identity and authentication (stores your email and account data). Clerk acts as a data processor under a data processing addendum.
- Cloudflare — hosting, the database (D1) where your account and portfolio data are stored, and key-value storage, plus network security.
4. We do not sell your data
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising (as those terms are used under California law).
5. Data retention & deletion
We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing contact@macroedge.org; we will delete it except where retention is required by law.
6. Security
Access to the Service is gated behind authentication, data is transmitted over encrypted connections, and each member's portfolio data is scoped to their own account. Any administrative or support access to member data is deliberate, permissioned, and logged. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access to or deletion or correction of your personal information, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share), to limit use of sensitive personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise any right, email contact@macroedge.org; we may need to verify your identity, and you may use an authorized agent.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Where data is processed
The Service is intended for users in the United States, and information is processed in the United States.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and where appropriate we will provide additional notice.
